"I'm curious — if politicians had done the same thing in their own countries, what decision would they have made?" – this is how the Mayor of Tbilisi responded to the debates held in the Council of Europe, where the arrest of politicians in Georgia was condemned.

Speaking to the media, Kakha Kaladze noted that certain politicians failed to appear before the parliamentary investigative commission, which, according to the law, triggered the appropriate legal response.

"It’s unbelievable that such statements are being made. They’re trying to convince us that white is black. We all know the reality, and so does the country’s population — these individuals committed a specific offense; they did not appear before the parliamentary investigative commission. The law clearly outlines what happens in case of non-appearance. Naturally, the government took the necessary steps.

The statements we’ve been hearing over the past months and years once again point to blackmail, misleading the public, and double standards. I’m curious — if politicians had done the same thing in their own countries, what kind of decision would they have made?" – said the Mayor of Tblisi.
