"In Rustavi prison, it feels like a dreamlike state – almost everyone is here. Just a little more and Guram Absandze will be arrested too, and after that, Mr. Guram will dig a secret tunnel once again and take us with him. This adventure should not end with anything less than that scenario," – reads a letter sent from prison by Nika Melia, one of the leaders of the “Coalition for Change,” published on his official Facebook page.
According to Nika Melia, “The regime’s goal with its attacks is to make us feel helpless, to paralyze our courage, and to strip us of our identity.”
"Hello and victory! Yes, the Soviet Union has returned to our present and wants our minds to cling to the past, but it is an incredible honor to fight for the freedom of one’s country — a fight that demands a life full of adventure, and there's nothing surprising about that.
We have not declared a final battle — we have declared a battle to the end! In such a fight, it is the principled who will win, and through our principles we will prevail. I believe it, I know it, I’ve fought this way, and I will keep fighting this way. I am truly encouraged by the sheer number of the determined — those who compromise have never brought change.
The regime's attacks are aimed at making us feel powerless, turning us into cowards, and robbing us of our inner selves.
But they will not succeed — because we have the power of truth on our side, and that power will unexpectedly turn into the energy of victory and shred the billionaire’s web in which we’re all entangled — including himself.
In short, no matter how happily they hiss through their teeth that if our parliament isn’t recognized, we’ll all end up in prison — they themselves, caught in this delusion, will disintegrate like a chemical compound in a test tube.
Georgia will never belong to Bidzina or the Russians — we’ve already breathed in the air of freedom, and many of us have mentally left the Soviet Union behind. We plan to shut all its doors for good!
Here in Rustavi prison, it feels like a dream — almost everyone is here. Just a little more, and Guram Absandze will be arrested too, and then Mr. Guram will dig a secret tunnel again and take us with him. This adventure should not end with anything less than that.
Greetings to everyone — stay strong! A shout-out to my neighbor on the floor – Giorgi; and to the neighbors downstairs – Nika, Zura, Irakli, Mamuka, and Badri. Greetings to Givi Targamadze! And to all the other prisoners of conscience in other prisons,” the letter concludes.
