For reference, on June 27, Nika Melia, one of the leaders of the “Coalition for Change,” was sentenced to 8 months of imprisonment for failing to comply with the demands of the Parliament’s Temporary Investigative Commission and was banned from holding office for 2 years. On the same day, opposition politician Givi Targamadze was detained on the same charge. He was sentenced to 7 months of imprisonment and banned from holding office for 2 years. Earlier, on June 24, the leader of “Strategy Aghmashenebeli,” Giorgi Vashadze, was found guilty by the court. By Judge Nino Galustashvili’s decision, he was sentenced to 7 months of imprisonment and banned from holding office for 2 years. Vashadze was detained at his party’s office. On the same charge, on June 23, two leaders of “Strong Georgia,” Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze, were detained. They were each sentenced to 8 months of imprisonment and banned from holding office for 2 years. Also on June 23, the court sentenced Zurab Girchi Japaridze, one of the leaders of the “Coalition for Change,” to 8 months of imprisonment and banned him from holding office for 2 years.
