Protesters are gathering on Rustaveli Avenue: traffic is blocked

In Tbilisi, on Rustaveli Avenue, protesters are gathering under the slogan: “Stand with your people! Stand for Georgia!”

The protesters have blocked Rustaveli Avenue, restricting vehicle traffic.

A stage has also been set up on Rustaveli Avenue, where speeches are reportedly planned.

According to the organizers, the government’s repressions now affect everyone, as opposition political party leaders, journalists, activists, actors, poets, teachers, and others are already in prison.

They state that today, silence means obedience, so Georgian citizens must make their voices heard by the government.

Leaders of opposition parties, family members of those detained during protests, and representatives of various fields are participating in the rally. Protesters are carrying Georgian and EU flags.

Law enforcement officers are mobilized on site.
