Migration Department conduct special immigration control operation, detain 14 foreign citizens

As part of the fight against illegal migration, employees of the Migration Department conducted a special immigration control operation, as a result of which 14 foreign citizens were detained, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.

“As a result of the complex operation, 14 foreign citizens were detained. Among them are citizens of India, Nepal, Pakistan and Libya.

It was established that they were in the country in violation of the requirements of the Law of Georgia “On the Legal Status of Foreigners and Stateless Persons”.

Currently, the mentioned persons are placed in the temporary accommodation center of the Migration Department. Relevant procedures are underway to expel them from the country.

The Migration Department will carry out special immigration control measures regularly to ensure the effective enforcement of the Law of Georgia "On the Legal Status of Foreigners and Stateless Persons", reads the information.
