Administrative liability is being tightened for pedestrians, and the fines established by law are being increased

Pedestrians will now have to pay increased fines for disobeying traffic control signals or ignoring the requirements of road signs or markings.

The Code of Administrative Offenses is being tightened in this regard.

The monetary penalty is increasing for violations of the Law on Road Traffic by road users (excluding drivers of vehicles), specifically for disobeying traffic control signals or ignoring the requirements of road signs or road markings. Instead of the previous fine of 10 GEL, the new fine will be 50 GEL. For repeated offenses, the fine will increase from 20 GEL to 100 GEL.

If the same offense is committed on a motorway, or a road of international or national significance, the pedestrian will be fined 100 GEL. A repeated offense within one year will result in a fine of 200 GEL.
