The the FARA law and the Grants law have many supporters – they are supported by organizations that want to work honestly and transparently. Those who do not support transparency, I think, are engaged in covert activities, this is not good, - the head of the Anti-Corruption Bureau, Razhden Kuprashvili, told journalists.
As Kuprashvili noted, information that these laws restrict the activities of any organization is false.
“The Anti-Corruption Bureau continues to hold working meetings with those organizations and interested parties that are subject to the legislative innovation related to the Law on Grants. Today and tomorrow we will have meetings with 400 non-governmental organizations. In a working format, we will discuss the monitoring regulations that the law has defined.
These draft laws, such as the FARA law and the Grants law, have many supporters. They are supported by those organizations that want to work honestly and transparently. Those who do not support transparency, I think, are engaged in covert activities, this is not good. This is not a democratic or European standard, which they are imposing on us these days. Also, the information that these laws restrict the activities of any organization is false. This law establishes regulations regarding transparency," Kuprashvili noted.
