Because it has the power, it is certainly not acceptable and fair to constantly talk about sanctions against a small country - we have not done anything wrong that our so-called opposition lobbyists are talking about - we are ready to talk about certain topics and expect that the bridges of cooperation will be solid and will not collapse, - First Vice-Speaker of the Parliament Gia Volski stated, responding to the information that "at the initiative of the European Affairs Ministers of France and Great Britain, a coordination meeting was held between partner countries on the situation surrounding Georgia."
According to him, Georgia's trajectory has not changed and the elections were held fairly.
"I know what Georgia demands from France and Britain - friendship, cooperation and an objective assessment of the situation. This is our attitude towards the issues. We can argue on certain topics - whether the "British law" regarding the media restricts freedom of speech, editorial policy, whether freedom of expression is protected when 10-20 people block the main avenue of the capital, etc. We can discuss these topics, but because it has power, constantly talking about sanctions against a small country is, of course, unacceptable. It is not fair. We have not done anything wrong that our so-called opposition lobbyists are saying. The trajectory has not changed either, the elections were held fairly and the majority of society supports the elected government. The elected one, not the government that came by force. So, we are ready to talk about these topics and expect that the bridges of cooperation between us will be solid and will not collapse," Volski said.
