Here is a one-way ticket. After you knew that you were supposed to come here, you left the country, why? - With this question, the chairwoman of the temporary investigative commission, Tea Tsulukiani, addressed the leader of the Gakharia for Georgia party, Giorgi Gakharia, at the commission session, who is currently participating in the commission remotely.
Tsulukiani first asked Gakharia, who is to be questioned about the opening of the checkpoint in the village of Chorchana, a question about his departure from the country.
“Mr. Giorgi, we informed you quite early that we wanted to interview you in this hall so that you, as in the first case, would physically appear, but after that you bought a ticket and flew away, why?” - Tsulukiani addressed Gakharia.
In turn, Gakharia replied:
“Because I had planned it. When I received your invitation, I had already purchased a ticket and, accordingly, I had planned a visit. That’s it, nothing else,” - explained Gakharia.
Tsulukiani did not agree with Gakharia’s explanation. As she noted, the commission sent Gakharia a notice on June 11 stating that he had been invited to the commission for the second time, while the ticket was purchased on June 13.
“What was the need to flee the country so suddenly, what is happening in this commission?” - Tsulukiani asked Gakharia.
“Has it become the subject of investigation for the commission when did I purchase a ticket?” Gakharia also responded to Tsulukiani with a question.
“You had planned [a visit] and that’s why you didn’t come, that’s not true,” - replied Tsulukiani.
In response to Tsulukiani's explanation, Gakharia noted that Tsulukiani was lying, to which Tsulukiani herself responded as follows:
"Whoever is a liar, this was clearly evident from the previous session, and the ticket you sent is here - a one-way ticket. Yes, this one-way ticket is good, it proves that you bought one-way ticket on June 13," - Tsulukiani noted.
In response, Gakharia told Tsulukiani to send the case to the Prosecutor's Office.
"Let's stay within the limits of constructiveness, otherwise I know a little more about epithets than you. I think I will also look for more vocabulary, for characterizations... After you knew that you should have come here, you left the country," - Tsulukiani replied to Gakharia.
