Giorgi Mosiashvili, illegally detained by Russian occupation force, is free

Giorgi Mosiashvili, illegally detained by the Russian occupation force, is free and is in the territory controlled by the central government, the State Security Service reports.

“In the process of releasing Giorgi Mosiashvili from illegal detention, both the “hotline” mechanism operating with the direct involvement of the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM) in Georgia and all relevant instruments at the disposal of the central government were actively used. The central government of Georgia provided information to international partners on a constant basis.

The issue was discussed both at meetings held in the format of the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism, as well as at international discussions in Geneva.

The central government, together with international partners, continues to work actively to release all citizens of Georgia illegally detained in the occupied territories.

"The Russian occupying forces bear responsibility for all destructive actions carried out in the occupied regions of Georgia and along the occupation line," reads the statement.
