Miner Tariel Mikatsadze, who has been on hunger strike for 15 days, has fallen ill. The information was shared by one of the miners.

According to them, Tariel Mikatsadze is refusing medical assistance.

“Today marks the 126th day of the continuous protest and the 15th day of the hunger strike. One of the hunger strikers, Tariel Mikatsadze, has fallen ill. He strongly refused to call an ambulance, but I called it without asking him. The emergency team arrived, but he refused all medical checks, examinations, and health monitoring. He didn’t even allow them to check his blood pressure. He said, ‘Until my friends are released, even if I lose consciousness completely, even if I pass out entirely, they’ll have to carry me out of here on a stretcher.’ We hope the guys will be released from prison,” said one of the miners.

For reference, the miners’ protest in Chiatura continues. Currently, seven miners are on hunger strike, and three of them have sewn their mouths shut. The main demand of the protestors is the release of the four detained miners.
