Guram Macharashvili: Gakharia wants to always be the groom at the wedding; if he’s not, he won’t attend any wedding at all – I’m sure Khokrishvili won’t be the only one to leave his party

Gakharia wants to always be the groom at the wedding; if he’s not, he won’t attend any wedding at all. I’m sure Khokrishvili won’t be the only one to leave his party, – said Guram Macharashvili, MP from People’s Power, speaking to journalists.

According to him, Gakharia’s party will never be able to achieve unity.

"The fragmentation in Gakharia’s party began the moment he founded it. He once said about one of his own representatives, ‘I forgot to include them in the list.’ He ignored someone else. As soon as the party was formed, people started leaving — including leaders — because of internal disagreements, as Gakharia is that kind of person.

He wants to always be the groom at the wedding; otherwise, he won’t attend any wedding. But that’s not how it works. That’s the reality. Based on that, there will never be unity within his party. I’m convinced Khokrishvili won’t be the exception when it comes to members leaving the party,” said Macharashvili.

For context, Elguja Khokrishvili stated that his and Gakharia’s political paths diverged after discussions began about participating in the local elections. He said he is categorically against any opposition party taking part in those elections.
