Giorgi Mindadze: The sentence doesn’t matter to me – thank you for coming to watch this circus, accept the verdict calmly

Judge Nino Galustashvili has retired for deliberation in the case of Giorgi Mindadze, who is accused of assaulting a police officer.

Before that, she heard the defense’s closing argument as well as the defendant’s final statement.

Giorgi Mindadze addressed the attendees, saying that the verdict did not matter to him and called on the public not to abandon the other detainees.

"People, what matters to me is that you are safe and well. The sentence doesn’t matter to me. Thank you for coming to watch this circus. Accept the verdict calmly and don’t abandon the boys. Also, 99% of the boys believe that 'Lelo–Strong Georgia' should not participate in the elections," Mindadze stated.

For context, Giorgi Mindadze, a student at the Medical University, has been charged under Article 353¹, Part 1 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to assaulting a police officer. Specifically, he is accused of throwing fireworks at a police officer on November 29, causing an injury to the officer’s leg.
