“We express concern over the post-election developments following the parliamentary elections of October 26, 2024,” – states the document adopted by the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
According to the document, the OSCE calls on the Georgian authorities to fulfill their obligations and promote a transparent and inclusive political process that reflects the will of the people.
"We call on the Georgian authorities to fulfill their commitments in order to ensure the free and safe environment for civil society, independent media, activists, and protesters, and to promote a transparent and inclusive political process that reflects broad public participation and is based on democratic principles – including the release of all political prisoners and the repeal of the Russian-style ‘foreign agents’ law.
We express concern over the post-election developments in Georgia following the October 26, 2024 parliamentary elections, including reports of arbitrary arrests, violence, and ill-treatment of protesters, opposition leaders, and members of the media – as documented by civil society organizations and the Public Defender of Georgia.”
