“We call on the government of Syria to revoke its recognition of the ‘independence’ of Georgia’s regions – Abkhazia and Tskhinvali – as well as Ukraine’s regions of Donetsk and Luhansk, and to recognize the territorial integrity of Georgia and Ukraine,” – states the document titled “Porto Declaration and Resolutions” adopted by the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.

According to the document, the organization also calls on participating States to support the formation of a new government in Syria, which would improve the security of both the country and the broader region.

"We call on OSCE participating States to support the formation of a stable, unified, and broadly representative government in Syria that will coexist peacefully with its neighbors and ensure the safety, freedom, and fundamental rights of all Syrians, and we call on the Syrian government to revoke its recognition of the ‘independence’ of Georgia’s regions – Abkhazia and Tskhinvali – as well as Ukraine’s regions of Donetsk and Luhansk, and to recognize the territorial integrity of Georgia and Ukraine,” the document states.
