“We propose to the pro-Western opposition that we strengthen one another in our struggle — we are ready to work in coalition. It is a crime to identify these elections as merely local elections. This is a fight in de facto elections against a de facto government,” said Irakli Kupradze, Secretary General of Lelo – Strong Georgia, during a briefing in which the party officially confirmed its participation in the local self-government elections.
According to him, “the fight against the regime must be won together.”
"We respect the decisions of all opposition parties, but we are choosing to fight on yet another front.
What matters most is that all pro-European opposition parties share the same goal — the defeat of the regime.
As it turns out, we have chosen a different strategy.
We are ready for full engagement, full participation, just as we have been until now. We are prepared to be fully involved — totally and with all our resources — in protest and street-based resistance.
From our side, this fight and protest will only intensify.
At the same time, we are ready and propose to the pro-Western opposition that we strengthen one another in our shared battles.
We are ready for unity with the pro-Western opposition and ready for coalition cooperation.
It is a crime to label these elections as merely local. October 4 is a battle in de facto elections against a de facto government. This is an individual process and a verdict by each Georgian citizen against the regime.
Our fight against the regime must be won together.
In this fight, we do not intend to give up a single inch of freedom — not in Tbilisi and not in the regions. We are ready for total resistance, for physical retaliation that Georgian Dream may carry out against us. We are ready for repression, for imprisonment,” he said.
