Ministry of Internal Affairs: According to doctors, Tornike Rijvadze has sustained lung damage and his health condition is critically stable

According to doctors, former Chairman of the Government of Adjara, Tornike Rijvadze, has sustained lung damage and his health condition is critically stable. This information was released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The ministry also stated that Tornike Rijvadze received emergency medical assistance.

“On July 7, Tornike Rijvadze was admitted to Sagarejo GeoHospitals with a gunshot wound to the chest.

An investigation has been launched under Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which pertains to incitement to suicide. Intensive investigative actions are ongoing in connection with the case.

Tornike Rijvadze received emergency medical treatment. According to doctors, he has suffered lung damage and his condition remains critically stable.

Additionally, one individual has been detained as a suspect under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of Georgia for the negligent storage of a firearm,” the statement reads.
