The founder of “Silk Road Group” and “Silknet,” businessman Giorgi Ramishvili, was visited by his legal representative, Irma Chkadua.

As the lawyer told Interpressnews, Ramishvili himself will make a statement later, in which he will answer “all the questions” of interest to the media.

“Mr. Giorgi will make a statement later and will answer all the questions that interest the media. At this stage, I can’t say anything further,” the lawyer stated.

For reference, businessman Giorgi Ramishvili, founder of Silk Road Group and Silknet, was detained yesterday at the airport.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the businessman was arrested under Article 236 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which refers to the illegal acquisition, storage, and carrying of firearms.

According to the agency, during the scanning of Ramishvili’s hand luggage at the departure terminal of Tbilisi International Airport, a firearm, magazine, and cartridges were discovered and confiscated.

The investigation determined that while the firearm is registered in his name, he did not have a permit to carry it.
