"They are suspiciously circulating a letter that does not align with rational logic—such letters are not written a few minutes before a suicide," said Eka Beselia, the founder of the "House of Justice," on Palitranius’s program “360 Degrees,” commenting on the case of Tornike Rizhvadze, the former chairman of the Adjara government, and the letter circulated in the media.

According to her, “the fact that unpleasant rumors were being spread about Tornike Rizhvadze before the alleged suicide attempt, indicating that some conflict had matured, raises suspicions.”

“I have worked on many criminal cases involving murders, suicides, and attempts. I know the practice, including more complex cases, and such letters are not written a few minutes before a suicide. This is something you sit down and carefully draft. The subtext suggests who you don’t want suspicions to be directed toward. The letter doesn’t seem like it was written in a state of emotional distress. When a person is about to take their own life, they cannot think rationally, and their emotional intelligence, mental, and emotional state are unstable.

In such cases, we always investigate what drove the person to this state if they were indeed attempting suicide—but it also needs to be determined whether they were attempting suicide or were shot, which is for the expertise to establish. Not only should the individuals present at the scene be questioned, but the expertise must also determine from what distance the shot was fired. There is a certain distance beyond which it is impossible to talk about suicide. A person cannot shoot themselves at any trajectory. We analyze many nuances before reaching a conclusion.

For reference, this morning, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that Tornike Rizhvadze, the former chairman of the Adjara government, was admitted to "Geohospitals" in Sagarejo with a gunshot wound to the chest area. According to the agency, Rizhvadze received emergency medical assistance. Doctors stated that his lung is damaged, and his health condition is stably critical.

Later, Rizhvadze was transferred from Sagarejo to the First University Clinic in Tbilisi.

In connection with Tornike Rizhvadze’s case, Alexi Akhvelediani has been detained as a suspect for negligent storage of a firearm.
