In Tbilisi, a minor was subjected to physical violence, injured with a cold weapon in various parts of the body, and a video capturing the violence, physical and psychological coercion, and degrading acts was recorded on a mobile phone. This information was released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the agency, nine individuals have been detained in connection with this incident.
The statement further notes that during searches of the suspects' personal belongings and residences, their mobile phones, items with Nazi symbols, and cold and pneumatic weapons were seized as evidence.
"Employees of the Juvenile Affairs Main Division of the Tbilisi Police Department, as a result of operational and investigative actions, detained nine individuals.
According to preliminary information, the following individuals were detained for the inhumane treatment of a minor committed as a group: L.A., born in 1995 with a prior conviction; G.M., born in 2006; D.B., born in 2007; D.M., born in 2008; G.J., born in 2008; S.Sh., born in 2008; M.Kh., born in 2010; Z.O., born in 2010; and A.R., born in 2011. The crime carries a penalty of up to 10 years of imprisonment.
The investigation established that, due to a prior disagreement, the minor M.Kh. lured another minor, A.Kh., under false pretenses to an abandoned building near a metro station in Tbilisi, where other accused individuals were waiting.
Following a verbal confrontation at the scene, the detainees physically assaulted A.Kh., inflicted injuries with a cold weapon in various parts of the body, and recorded a video on a mobile phone capturing the violence, physical and psychological coercion, and degrading acts committed against the victim.
As a result of comprehensive investigative and procedural actions, law enforcement officers seized the suspects' mobile phones, items with Nazi symbols, and cold and pneumatic weapons as evidence during searches of their personal belongings and residences.
The investigation into the inhumane treatment of a minor committed by a group is being conducted under Subparagraphs 'e' and 'z' of Part 2 of Article 144-tertia of the Criminal Code," the statement reads.
