"If the opposition considers OSCE/ODIHR an objective observer and their word decisive, one of the leading ones in such a situation, they should recognize their conclusion on the 2024 parliamentary elections," said Tengiz Sharmanashvili, a member of the parliamentary majority, to journalists regarding the invitation of OSCE/ODIHR to the local self-government elections.

According to him, after this, the Georgian authorities would make a decision on inviting them within half an hour.

"If they consider OSCE/ODIHR an objective observer and their word decisive, one of the leading ones in such a situation, those who are now calling on us to align with OSCE/ODIHR should recognize their conclusion on the 2024 parliamentary elections. After that, I am confident that the Georgian authorities will make a decision on inviting them within half an hour. But to play the same farce again, to bring in a bullied OSCE/ODIHR and then, who knows, where their conclusion might end up being thrown? It’s pointless to even discuss it in such a situation. Do you consider them authoritative? Then recognize it. Say, ‘We agree with the conclusion of the 2024 elections,’ where the elections were acknowledged as competitive. The same conclusion includes recommendations on what the Georgian authorities need to improve. In the conclusion, OSCE/ODIHR recognizes the authorities and tells them, ‘You, the legitimate government, should further improve the remaining aspects we are discussing.’

It is a matter of OSCE/ODIHR’s own self-respect that, before addressing us, they should go to the European Parliament and say, ‘We are deeply offended that you did not accept the 2024 conclusion and threw it in the trash.’ Only then should we continue the conversation about the rest; until then, it’s not worth doing," Tengiz Sharmanashvili stated.
