"The Prosecutor's Office of Georgia has charged one individual with negligent storage of a firearm that led to grave consequences.

An investigation conducted by the Central Criminal Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia established that on the evening of July 6, T.R. was visiting his friend A.A.’s house in Sagarejo. Between approximately 1:10 AM and 1:30 AM on July 7, T.R. secretly took a 'Glock' system firearm belonging to A.A., which A.A. had negligently left in a glazed gazebo near his residence. T.R. then secretly brought it to a bedroom designated for guests and, while alone, shot himself in the chest with the intent of suicide, resulting in severe health damage.

Law enforcement officers detained A.A. on the same day. The accused was charged under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of Georgia (negligent storage of a firearm that led to grave consequences), which carries a penalty of up to three years of imprisonment.

The Prosecutor's Office will request the court, within the legally stipulated timeframe, to impose a preventive measure on the accused," the statement reads.
