Tornike Rizhvadze has been transferred to Turkey for treatment

The former chairman of the Adjara government, Tornike Rizhvadze, has been transferred to Turkey for treatment. This was confirmed to "InterpressNews" by Lali Turdzeladze, the clinical director of the First University Clinic.

According to her, Tornike Rizhvadze’s transfer to a clinic in Turkey for treatment was at the request of his family.

For reference, on July 7, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that Tornike Rizhvadze, the former chairman of the Adjara government, was admitted to "Geohospitals" in Sagarejo with a gunshot wound to the chest area. According to the agency, Rizhvadze received emergency medical assistance. Later, he was transferred from Sagarejo to the First University Clinic in Tbilisi. In connection with Tornike Rizhvadze’s case, Alexi Akhvelediani was detained on charges of negligent storage of a firearm. The court imposed a 30,000 GEL bail on Akhvelediani and released him from the courtroom.
