The National Food Agency has released a statement regarding a video circulating on social media that shows peaches being spray-painted.
According to the agency, this is a case of intentional food contamination, and they have already submitted a written request to the relevant law enforcement authorities.
“This is a case of intentional food contamination, and it requires immediate response. For this purpose, the agency has already contacted the relevant law enforcement bodies in writing.”
The agency also notes that it continuously monitors fruits and vegetables available on the consumer market:
“The National Food Agency regularly inspects fruits and vegetables on the market, conducting ongoing monitoring and sampling to test for various indicators (such as pesticides, heavy metals, radionuclides). Information about lab results and any identified non-compliances is made public and is also available on the agency’s website: nfa.gov.ge.”
