The Ministry of Internal Affairs has arrested a 19-year-old boy in connection with the stabbing of a minor in Marneuli

In Marneuli, law enforcement officers detained a 19-year-old boy on charges of attempting to intentionally murder a minor in connection with the stabbing of a teenager.

According to the agency, the crime carries a penalty of up to 20 years of imprisonment.

“Employees of the Marneuli District Division of the Kvemo Kartli Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operational and investigative actions, detained A.A., born in 2006, on charges of attempting to intentionally murder a minor. The crime carries a penalty of up to 20 years of imprisonment. The investigation established that the accused, during an argument, inflicted stab wounds to various parts of the body of N.R., born in 2009, and fled the scene. The injured N.R. was taken to a hospital, where they are currently receiving appropriate medical care. As a result of investigative actions, law enforcement officers detained A.A. on the spot. The weapon used in the crime—a knife—has been seized as evidence. The investigation is being conducted under Article 19-109, Subparagraph ‘e’ of the Criminal Code of Georgia,” the statement reads.
