The letter from 18 European officials once again reminds us of how deeply rooted the informal governance of the Deep State is in the vast majority of EU countries and Great Britain, under which there is no longer any moral boundary in the European bureaucracy, - reads the statement of the Political Council of the Georgian Dream, responding to the statement of 17 European countries and the High Representative of the European Union.
In addition, it is noted that today Europe is experiencing a democratic decline and a crisis of the most serious value. The majority of European states operate under the principled influence of the Deep State.
According to the Georgian Dream, recent developments "deepen the well-founded suspicion that the Deep State once separated Great Britain from the European Union for a specific purpose." On the basis of "Brexit," a third, separate center was formed, which serves to implement the Deep State's global agenda.
The party expresses "full readiness" to cooperate with any state that "desires fair cooperation with Georgia." It is noted that "it is important for everyone to understand that just as Georgia needs Europe, the European Union needs Georgia no less."
“A letter signed by the Foreign Ministers of 17 European countries and the High Representative of the European Union has been released, which, unfortunately, should be assessed as another brutal and unjust attack on the Georgian people and Georgian democracy. The statement is saturated with Soviet-style disinformation and false accusations. Accordingly, we call on each signatory of the letter to treat their statements more responsibly in the future.
The orchestrated attack against the Georgian people, which has acquired a new content after October 26, has only one reason - the Georgian people did not allow the return of the “Deep State” agency, the collective “National Movement”, to power, which was openly supported by the EU Ambassador to Georgia and specific European and former American officials.
Everyone sees that no one can question the legitimacy of the parliamentary elections. In addition to objective reality, the legitimacy of the elections is supported by both the OSCE/ODIHR report and statements by senior OSCE officials, including the OSCE Secretary General’s statement a few days ago that the 2024 elections fully reflected the will of the Georgian people. It is clear that European officials are dissatisfied not with the content of the elections, but with their results.
One of the misinformation in the statement of 18 European officials is related to the arrest of radical politicians, which they call “politically motivated” and the goal of which is to “suppress political opposition” ahead of the local elections. First of all, we should remind everyone that of the arrested politicians, only Mamuka Khazaradze and Badri Japaridze planned/are planning to participate in the local elections. We should also remind the signatory officials that the law on the basis of which politicians were sentenced to imprisonment was adopted in Georgia three decades ago and is fully consistent with European practice and standards. The relevant criminal cases are completely simple and transparent. Specific politicians did not appear before the parliamentary investigative commission, for which the legislation provides for imprisonment of up to 1 year, and for this crime they were sentenced to 7-8 months of imprisonment. Those who appeared were not sentenced to any punishment. Moreover, in the context of the local elections, the President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, declared that he would pardon all politicians who expressed their desire to participate in the elections and addressed the President with a corresponding statement. However, in this case too, radical politicians expressed complete disrespect for the state institution, which was met with tacit support by European officials.
The letter contains yet another piece of misinformation about the activists allegedly being “unjustly detained.” This statement is nothing more than another lustration of the fact that the attempt to overthrow the government in November-December of last year and the brutal violence of the protesters were supported from the outside. Everyone remembers well that the violent attempt to overthrow the legitimate government was non-transparently financed by USAID, NED, EED and other similar funds and openly supported by specific European and former American officials. They also considered the brutal violence to be a “peaceful protest,” which even Soviet propaganda could not do. As is known, all the processes conducted against violent protesters are completely transparent. In addition, we would like to remind the officials who signed the letter, which is saturated with disinformation, that out of several hundred perpetrators, only about 30 perpetrators have been arrested, which confirms the high standard of the investigation. We would also like to remind the signatories that in the UK, Germany, France, Sweden, Spain and other relevant European countries, assault on a police officer is punishable by a long prison sentence (including 5-8 years).
When talking about political persecution, we would like to remind everyone that if anywhere the legal persecution of politicians has acquired a political connotation, it is Germany and France., Germany and France talking about political persecution in the context of the persecution of the main opposition parties and their leaders, to put it mildly, is laughable. We should also recall the story that happened in Romania, when the candidate who won the first round of the presidential elections first had the elections completely annulled, and later a criminal case was opened and he was banned from participating in the elections. The disdain for Georgian democracy by the European bureaucracy, which expressed full support for this act of trampling democracy underfoot, is completely inappropriate.
The directive contained in the letter, saturated with disinformation, that “recently repressive laws should be repealed” is also worrying. These are laws aimed at preventing the violation of Georgia’s sovereignty and the weakening of state institutions through external financing. All these laws are in full compliance with legal principles and standards. Therefore, to instruct the Georgian Parliament on what laws it should adopt and what not, without any arguments, is a gross violation of parliamentary sovereignty and an insult to the Georgian people.
The letter from 18 European officials once again reminds us how deeply rooted the informal governance of the “Deep State” is in the vast majority of EU countries and the UK, under which there is no longer any moral boundary in the European bureaucracy. There is only one principle - the country is ruled either by the “Deep State” or it becomes the object of constant attack by European officials. The only thing they cannot forgive Georgia, Hungary, Slovakia and Serbia is their independence and sovereignty.
Recent developments deepen the well-founded suspicion that the “Deep State” once separated Great Britain from the European Union for a specific purpose. On the basis of Brexit, a third, separate center was formed, which serves to implement the “Deep State’s global agenda. We should recall the words of former British Prime Minister, who emphasized that Britain is now ruled by the “Deep State”. We hope that Donald Trump will be able to fulfill his promise and defeat the “Deep State”, which will also return sovereignty to European countries. We see that the center of gravity of the “Deep State” has shifted from the United States to Europe. If the “Deep State” is not defeated and only undergoes a rebranding, unfortunately, both the weakening of Europe and the attacks on the Georgian people and Georgian democracy will continue. We wish Donald Trump success once again in this important endeavor.
Today, Europe is experiencing a democratic decline and a crisis with the most serious costs. The majority of European states operate under the principled influence of the “Deep State”. Uncontrolled migration, pseudo-liberal propaganda, the decline of state and religious institutions are rapidly causing Europe to lose its identity. Non-recognition of the electoral victory of undesirable parties and candidates and the cancellation of elections, political persecution of opponents, and total restriction of media freedom have become the norm for Europe today. Against this background, neither the absurd resolutions of the European Parliament, nor the letter of 18 European officials saturated with disinformation, nor their sanctions or other attacks on the Georgian people surprise anyone.
We cannot attack anyone, but we can neither promise anyone that we will not defend our country, its sovereignty and identity, and the interests of the Georgian people. We cannot make any compromises in this fight. At the same time, we express our full readiness to cooperate with any state that wishes to have fair cooperation with Georgia. It is important for everyone to understand that just as Georgia needs Europe, the European Union needs Georgia no less,” reads the statement.
