I welcome the signing of a joint memorandum between the Lelo-Strong Georgia and Gakharia teams - it is important not to leave opposition voters without elections and not to facilitate the Georgian Dream to seize local representation in every city or region without any problems, - reads a letter from imprisoned Lelo-Strong Georgia leader Mamuka Khazaradze.
As Khazaradze notes, the boycott will help cement the Georgian Dream at the local level.
"I welcome the signing of a joint memorandum between the Lelo-Strong Georgia and Gakharia teams.
A turning point awaits us in 3 months, so it is important not to leave the opposition voters without an election and not to facilitate Georgian Dream to easily seize the local representation of all cities and regions, because this will be an important pillar and springboard for our final victory.
We must not let the Georgian people take the lever. A boycott will help to consolidate the Georgian Dream, that is, Russian power, at the local level. This cannot be done. The people, and especially the opposition voters, need protection at all levels - this is an additional battlefield despite the unequal situation.
Our goal is unchanged - to achieve new parliamentary elections and release prisoners of conscience! This memorandum was signed in this spirit, the goal of which is one - the struggle always has meaning and we should not leave Russian power without a fight in any place.
We, Lelo-Strong Georgia, have always been the initiators of unity. Today, when the country is completely dominated by Russian politics, we must put everything personal aside and think about a joint struggle. This memorandum is proof of this.
I call on everyone to join us in this struggle! We believe in the victory of the Georgian people - by fighting together, this is inevitable! - writes Khazaradze.
For information, the Gakharia for Georgia party and Lelo-Strong Georgia have agreed on cooperation for the local elections. The memorandum on cooperation between the parties was signed by the executive secretary of Gakharia for Georgia Berdia Sichinava and the secretary general of Lelo-Strong Georgia, Irakli Kupradze. As Berdia Sichinava noted, the parties "agree on a common struggle and common principles in the local elections."
