The Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance states that the information about the “blocking” of Armenian cargoes, including gas products, in Georgia is a complete lie.
In the statement, the Revenue Service notes that “disinformation” serves to mislead the public, discredit the agency, and represents an attempt to turn the topic into a political issue.
“The Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance responds to another disinformation statement made by certain media outlets and representatives of opposition parties about the alleged “blocking” of Armenian cargoes (including gas products) in Georgia, and clarifies that this is a complete lie, serves to mislead the public, discredit the agency, and represents an attempt to turn the topic into a political issue.
We would like to clarify that in the conditions of increased cargo turnover, all customs procedures for vehicles involved in international transportation are being carried out in a special/active mode in order to ensure their smooth passage. In addition, at all customs checkpoints throughout Georgia, customs officers are fully prepared, 24 hours a day, to quickly carry out control procedures for both individuals and light and passenger vehicles.
The Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance emphasizes that the photo and video materials (vehicles loaded with gas products) disseminated by the media do not reflect the real situation at customs checkpoints, including the Kazbegi customs checkpoint, where for a short time there was a slight delay in the movement of trucks, which was completely eliminated,” the information states.
According to data from the past year, customs formalities were carried out for 364,670 trucks in both directions through the Kazbegi customs checkpoint.
Customs control procedures are subject to strict monitoring by the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance, and this process will continue in the future. In addition, once again, we call on everyone to refrain from spreading unverified and false information.
