The Prosecutor General's Office of Georgia has entered the TV company Main Channel and its contractor sales house, the Main Channel website reports.
According to the same information, the Prosecutor's Office has requested the complete seizure of financial documentation related to the channel.
“The relevant ruling was delivered to the TV company and the sales house today.
The investigation was launched based on a complaint by Gogi Kurdadze, the director appointed by one of the founders of the Main Channel, Zaza Okuashvili, who accuses the management and co-founders of the channel of financial violations.
As we stated back in the fall of last year, Zaza Okuashvili made false and unfounded accusations against the channel’s management and co-founders, thereby serving the interests of the Russian regime.
Unfortunately, the Georgian Dream managed to achieve its goal and closed the country’s main critical channel with the help of Zaza Okuashvili. However, it seems that the pressure on the Main Channel did not end there, and the regime is again trying to use Okuashvili’s slander to pressure the company’s management and other founders.
There is no crime in the financial operations of the Main Channel and an impartial rosecutor's office would not even have launched an investigation into Kurdadze's complaint, since the absurdity of the director's accusations is obvious. However, we all understand that the Georgian Dream is not aimed at establishing the truth, but at fulfilling its own political goals," reads the statement.
