Poland has deported 27 Georgian citizens and 13 Moldovan citizens for security reasons, according to information released by the Polish Border Guard Service on social media.
According to the Polish Border Guard Service, the deportation of 40 citizens of Georgia and Moldova was carried out in cooperation with the European Border and Coast Guard Agency, Frontex.
The deportation of Georgian and Moldovan citizens took place on July 15 from the Polish city of Radom by airplane.
The agency’s statement notes that the deportation of 20 Georgian and 9 Moldovan citizens was carried out for the purpose of protecting national security and public order.
Additionally, according to the Polish Border Guard Service, one of the Georgians deported from Poland has been convicted 12 times for theft.
“Some were detained for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and for illegally staying in Poland. Among the deportees are also those who facilitated illegal border crossings for other foreigners,” the statement reads.
The Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed the information released by the Polish Border Guard Service.
