The specific message of today’s rally is that the so-called Russian elections are part of a Russian special operation. Its script and outcome have already been written, – said Levan Tsutskiridze, leader of the Freedom Square movement, in an interview with Interpressnews near the first building of Tbilisi State University, from where a march toward Parliament was set to begin.
According to him, the uncompromising struggle will continue.
“We will not let ourselves be deceived by this political group called ‘Georgian Dream,’ and we will continue this principled, uncompromising struggle. This protest has achieved everything it has so far. Today, ‘Georgian Dream’ is a much weaker, more confused, and internally divided political party than ever before. This struggle has brought about all of this, and we must continue in this way,” said Levan Tsutskiridze.
He also spoke about the statement from the European Parliament, which says that Georgia will not be able to join the European Union as long as its government does not change its authoritarian course and that they do not recognize the current Georgian government.
When asked how opposition political parties participating in the local self-government elections appear against this backdrop, Tsutskiridze responded: “I have a very short answer: they look bad.”
