The protest march: “No to Russian Elections” – has reached Parliament - Rustaveli Avenue is blocked

“No to Russian Elections” – the protest march that began under this slogan from the first building of Tbilisi State University has reached the Parliament of Georgia.

Political opposition parties, representatives of the non-governmental sector, mothers of those arrested at previous protests, and other citizens initially gathered in the courtyard of TSU’s first building, from where they marched toward Parliament.

According to the participants, today’s rally represents their rejection of the local self-government elections scheduled for October 4, as they believe “these elections are a Russian special operation and are also illegitimate.” They stated that their main demands remain unchanged: the announcement of new, free parliamentary elections and the release of those detained during protest rallies.

The movement “Mountains for Freedom” also joined the protest.

Due to the ongoing rally, vehicular traffic on Rustaveli Avenue has been blocked.
