Gia Khukhashvili: Let’s turn October 4 into a day of forcing the government’s hand; we must act while the trail is still hot – we must not allow them to produce fabricated protocols; When 100,000 people are spread across polling stations, we’ll see how many police officers they actually have to beat us

The government is operating in a permanent state of a coup: it rigged the elections, lost legitimacy, and now violates Article 78 every day — in other words, they’ve torn up the Constitution and thrown it in our faces," said political analyst Gia Khukhashvili on PalitraNews’s program 360 Degrees.

According to him, the people must peacefully force the government to return within the boundaries of the Constitution.

Khukhashvili also spoke about the opposition, stating that instead of unity, it is focused on slander and insults.

"It is the government that is staging a coup. The government is operating in a permanent coup regime: it falsified the elections, lost its legitimacy, and now it violates Article 78 on a daily basis — they’ve literally shredded the Constitution. Now, we — the people — must peacefully force the government to return to the constitutional framework, and if they refuse, we must remove them through elections.

Of course, the opposition is in poor shape. Instead of focusing and respecting each other’s choices on both sides, they’re busy with insults and slander — especially those supporting a boycott. Their tongues are sharpened, and from morning to night, they talk about Khazaradze as if he were the country’s biggest problem. Who are they themselves, and what are they even capable of?" said Khukhashvili.

Speaking about the formation of resistance groups in connection with October 4, Khukhashvili said that such forces would, on the contrary, help the government.

In his view, the main agenda should be a peaceful protest on October 4, where citizens will demand transparency of the election results.

He believes the people should take power for one day and force the government to act by fair rules.

"They’re not confronting the government — they’re fighting the opposition. Meanwhile, the government will still bring out its voters. They’re doing Bidzina’s work for him. Do you think that by forming these groups, they’ll prevent the government’s supporters from getting to polling stations? They’ll get beaten up and that’ll be the end of it. They’re using self-harm — they've come up with a particularly masochistic form of protest. This whole debate shouldn’t have been raised at all.

Let’s turn October 4 into the day we force the government to return the stolen votes. We must act while the trail is still hot. This is what we should have done on October 26. We, the people, must take power into our own hands for one day and force the government to play by fair rules. On the morning of October 4, let’s come out and stand peacefully until the next morning — until protocols are released from every precinct — and not allow the government to bring out falsified protocols. When 100,000 people are distributed across precincts, we’ll see how many police officers they have to beat us,” Khukhashvili said.
