Now the task is: to maintain the protest in the summer, to refuse to participate in the circus on October 4, - one of the leaders of the Coalition for Change, Zurab Girchi Japaridze, writes in a letter posted on his Facebook page.
Zurab Japaridze once again clarifies his position related to the local self-government elections.
“Discussing whether it is right to participate in the so-called local elections is pointless. I have said/written all the arguments - it is a huge mistake!
As long as we are on the streets, as long as there is resistance, as long as people stand on Rustaveli in the evening, we will withstand such mistakes.
But some truths need to be said right now:
There can be no unified neutral candidates. Such a thing can only happen in the case of unity. There is no unity and it will not be achieved.
There can be no unity. We have different strategies.
For us, the document signed by Kavelashvili, with which he supposedly calls for elections, and the document signed by Tsulukiani, with which he summons us to the so-called commission, are the same garbage. Both are nobody. Both are clowns.
Apart from that, it is strategically important for us to show that people are not participating in this circus and this is where we are mistaken.
There can be no 3,000 hot spots. Yes, it sounds poetic, but it only sounds like that and will remain so. Everyone knows this.
There can be no fight for victory. No sane person will believe that a third of the opposition, in elections where turnout is lower than traditional, will defeat a regime that writes the numbers itself, whereas the opposition has not been able to do this for 13 years as a whole.
There can be no Tbilisi victory. Such regimes, at the stage of power consolidation that they are at now, do not give up power through elections, not even in the capitals (anywhere).
There will be no “we will go to the regions, we will meet people”. Whatever will happen, there will be media spectacles.
Etc.
What will actually happen?
- That's what we are watching now, more TV stories will be added, how politicians walk on the streets and how they meet party members in the regions.
Election TV clips and street banners will also be added. There will be nothing more.
- There will be some poor council seats;
- With a very high probability, there will be fewer votes for such parties than they received on October 26 (in nominal terms);
- There will be more distrust among political players;
- There will be propaganda by the scoundrels that a significant part of the opposition has recognized the legitimacy of this parliament, because it participated in the elections appointed by the president appointed by this parliament.
- There will be problems in external communication, because it will be the first time since October last year that positions on an important issue have been divided on the opposition flank.
- On the night of the 4th, the Russian regime's propaganda will begin that the pro-Western opposition has been dispersed and they will put up their numbers.
- There will be speculation from the participating parties that “If we had participated together, we would have broken the tiles.”
That’s all it.
What will happen from October 5 is still unclear.
But it’s a given.
Now the task is:
To maintain the protest in the summer
To refuse to participate in the circus on the 4th,” Japaridze writes.
