The Ministry of Internal Affairs detained a law enforcement officer for stealing a gold item belonging to a citizen while performing official duties

Employees of the General Inspection of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operational and investigative actions, detained an inspector from the Aviation Security Department of the Protection Police on charges of theft, based on a judge’s order.

This information was released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

“The investigation established that M.B., born in 1990, while performing official duties, secretly took possession of a gold item belonging to a citizen with the intent of unlawful appropriation. The crime carries a penalty of imprisonment from 3 to 5 years. The investigation into the theft is being conducted under Article 177 of the Criminal Code,” the statement reads.
