“Why didn’t you order a voice analysis, why am I in prison?” asked Vepkhia Kasradze, detained on charges of organizing group violence, addressing investigator Levan Abesadze.
Kasradze’s lawyer, Archil Chavchanidze, also posed questions to Abesadze, specifically whether the video material he reviewed was original.
“If you’re asking me who recorded it, I can’t answer,” Abesadze stated.
When asked how he knew the voice in the recording was Kasradze’s or whether he had conducted a voice analysis, the investigator responded that he had not. He added that no signs of editing were visible during the visual inspection.
The defendant, Kasradze, addressed the investigator in a loud tone.
“Why didn’t you order [a voice analysis], why am I in prison?” Kasradze asked Abesadze.
Judge Tamar Mchedlishvili reprimanded him for his tone.
“I kindly ask you to calm down and take your seat. I understand you, so I won’t react further now, but I will limit myself to a warning,” the judge stated.
She issued warnings to the investigator, Levan Abesadze, who was summoned as a witness, multiple times during the hearing.
