Mikheil Kavelashvili: We should not insult each other, saying that someone can exchange the homeland for a visa – they do not know the character of the Georgian man

We should not insult each other, saying that someone can exchange the homeland for a visa. A Georgian may give up everything, there is no material wealth for him, - Mikheil Kavelashvili stated on Rustavi 2 during a conversation about visa liberalization.

According to him, they "don't know the character of a Georgian man, that this makes him even more angry, insults him, when they use the homeland as a counterweight”.

"Of course, it is very good that everyone has the opportunity to go, see, relax, and also work. Of course, it is a good achievement [visa liberalization]. I was talking about national interests, statehood - we should not insult such a person, that someone can exchange his homeland for a visa. If you treat me like this and show to me that you are doing this specifically to upset people here (this is some kind of bureaucratic part, of Europe and the European Union) and you are doing this specifically, you think that people living here are not intelligent, that they do not appreciate anything, they cannot understand why you are doing this... that they do not know this country, right? - Georgians give up everything, there is no material wealth for them. We are all attached to this value. What sanctions... how will they look at their children, if they sell their homeland because of sanctions, or make some other decision, "even if anyone is harmed, no matter who they are, whether they are police officers or... When they say today, 'Look, the next sanction awaits you,' they don't know the character of the Georgian people, this makes them even more angry. It's even more insulting when they are putting our homeland as a counterweight. How can they win in this society? It is impossible for them to achieve anything by doing this....," he noted.
