The Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance has arrested one person for taking a bribe.

In particular, according to the information disseminated by the agency, as a result of the operational-search measures and investigative actions conducted, the employees of the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia have arrested the representative of the mayor of Zugdidi Municipality in the Orsanti administrative unit - E.B. for taking a bribe.

"The investigation has established that E.B., in the exercise of his official authority, prepared and handed over false certificates of origin of trees and plants to one of the citizens in exchange for a bribe of 300 GEL, in order to obtain personal illegal material benefits.

The investigation is underway under Part 1 of Article 338 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provides for imprisonment for a term of six to nine years as a form and measure of punishment," reads the information.
