The judge in Giorgi Akhobadze's case to those present in the courtroom: Find another place in the world for making noise

“Find another place in the world to make noise,” – with these words, Judge Romeo Tkeshelashvili addressed those present in the courtroom during the trial of Giorgi Akhobadze, a doctor accused of drug-related crimes.

According to the judge, the hearing started late because “they were arguing with the bailiffs about entering the courtroom.”

At this moment, Giorgi Akhobadze, who is accused of drug-related offenses, is delivering his final statement, after which the judge will announce the verdict.

For context, Doctor Giorgi Akhobadze was arrested on December 7 while returning home from a protest rally held on Rustaveli Avenue.

He has been charged under Article 260, Part 6 of the Criminal Code, which involves the illegal purchase and possession of a large quantity of narcotic substances.

This offense is punishable by 8 to 20 years or life imprisonment.
