Georgia’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Tamar Taliashvili, presented her credentials to U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House. The information was released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
According to the Ministry, during the credential presentation ceremony, President Trump wished the newly appointed ambassador success in her future work.
“Today was an important day in Georgian-American relations. I had the honor of presenting my credentials to U.S. President Donald Trump.
I also conveyed to him the warm wishes and congratulations of the Georgian government, the Georgian people, the Prime Minister, and the President of Georgia, as well as the key messages we have for the United States — that the Georgian government is ready to open a new chapter in our relations, one based on mutual benefit, with a strong and deepened partnership, and enhanced people-to-people ties.
I would like to note that the meeting was held in a very warm and friendly atmosphere and was attended by Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
I want to thank the U.S. administration for making this important ceremony with Georgia possible in the shortest possible time. I would also like to emphasize the strong support we received to ensure that all procedures were carried out quickly and efficiently.
It is also worth noting that yesterday I had a very interesting and important meeting with the Chief of U.S. Protocol, Ambassador Monica Crowley. The meeting was conducted in a very friendly environment.
During these meetings, we had the opportunity to discuss strengthening U.S.-Georgia relations and the action plan that will serve as a roadmap for ensuring our future cooperation is strong and resilient,” stated the Ambassador following the meeting, according to the ministry’s release.
