A man was killed in Tbilisi: one person has been arrested on charges of murder

Police have arrested one person in Tbilisi on charges of premeditated murder. According to information released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the crime is punishable by up to 15 years in prison.

"Officers of the Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested G.V., born in 1995, on charges of premeditated murder as a result of immediate operational and investigative actions.

The investigation determined that during a confrontation that began as a verbal dispute in Tbilisi, the accused inflicted multiple stab wounds on R.K., born in 1992, using a cold weapon, and then fled the scene. The injured man died shortly after being taken to the hospital.

As a result of the operational and investigative measures carried out by the police, G.V. was apprehended within a few hours of the incident.

Law enforcement officers seized the murder weapon as evidence.

The investigation into the case of premeditated murder is being conducted under Article 108 of the Criminal Code of Georgia," the statement said.
