A protest rally titled “17 Russian soldiers in Antsukhelidze’s country” is taking place near the new Sports Palace

Under the slogan “17 Russian soldiers in Antsukhelidze’s country,” a protest rally is taking place near the new Sports Palace. According to the participants, they are protesting the participation of 25 Russian athletes in the World Fencing Championship being held in Georgia, 17 of whom, according to their information, are military personnel.

“The main reason for the protest is that the fencing championship is being held in Georgia, where 25 Russian athletes are participating, and 17 of them are military personnel. These are the people who have killed our and Ukrainian heroes. Today, Georgian police stand between us and the Russian military, protecting them instead of us. We were removed from the Sports Palace for holding up Antsukhelidze’s poster,” said one of the rally participants.

The protesters have brought banners to the site reading: “Russians will not win in Antsukhelidze’s country” and “Anzhelidze is immortal.”
