Former “Georgian Dream” MP and veteran wrestler Luka Kurtanidze has been arrested. The information was confirmed to Interpressnews by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. According to the ministry, Luka Kurtanidze was arrested on charges of domestic violence and violation of the requirements and obligations outlined in a restraining order, under Articles 126¹ and 381¹ of the Criminal Code of Georgia.

Kurtanidze’s ex-wife, Khatuna Mikatsadze, has accused him of physical abuse. According to available information, the incident took place in Kobuleti. Mikatsadze stated that Luka Kurtanidze subjected her to both verbal and physical abuse. She reportedly has visible injuries on her body.

She also explained that a restraining order had been issued against Eldar [Luka] Kurtanidze, which prohibited him from approaching her.
