None of the GORBI surveys have ever been adequate - I just wonder why some of my opposition colleagues made any kind of statement because of the GORBI’s distorted numbers? Why one would go to this level to draw political conclusions because of this survey? - Grigol Gegelia, one of the leaders of Lelo-Strong Georgia, stated on PalitraNews.

According to him, “this study is funny and nothing more”.

“None of the GORBI surveys have ever been adequate. These are the numbers written in the Georgian Dream political council, both last year, and the year before that, and so on for 13 years. There can be no serious conversation about the GORBI surveys, our party will not talk about this. Georgian Dream always writes the results of GORBI surveys in its offices, sometimes in Shalva's office, sometimes in Mamuka's office, etc.

I'm just wondering about something else, why some of my opposition colleagues made any kind of statement because of the GORBI’s distorted numbers? Why one would go to this level to draw political conclusions because of this survey? This is a propaganda for Georgian Dream. It's very bad that some of my colleagues lack the patience, foresight, and strategic ability not to make assessments because of GORBI. I won't say more and we won't attack the opposition," Gegelia noted.

As for Gegelia's position regarding the participation of the Lelo Strong Georgia coalition in the local self-government elections. He said that he might have had “very skeptical positions,” but despite this, the party decided that they would participate in the elections.

“The majority believes that this method of struggle is one more very important tool of struggle. I always respect a democratic, collective decision and I believe that high internal democracy in the party is the only way for a particular political group in the country to create democracy. If you are unable to play democratically in the party, how can you do it in the country? If you enter the Chancellery, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Parliament, you will not be able to do anything there at all,” Gegelia noted.

In addition, Gegelia responded to the detention of former Deputy Defense Minister Giorgi Khaindrava and two other individuals in connection with the illegal embezzlement of a large amount of money belonging to the Georgian Defense Ministry in 2023. According to him, this fact is “a good lustration of the entire system.”

"Imagine the scale we are talking about, how many ministries, how many agencies, how many LEPLs, how many thousands of people who are potentially involved in a process of this type. Accordingly, how many people's money [we are talking about]. Those people who are starving today, those who are fleeing this country, those people who are elderly and do not have not only basic comforts, but also the necessary conditions for survival. But some people, even in isolated cases, have taken away one million three hundred like this. How many more million three hundred have the same people taken away? How much more equipment did they buy. There are hundreds of these people in the entire system. Imagine the scale we are talking about," Gegelia said.
