We are witnessing artificial speculation regarding the mayoral candidate, including deliberate distortion of my words. In fact, there is complete unanimity in the team regarding Mr. Kakhi, - Levan Makhashvili, Chairman of the European Integration Committee of the Georgian Parliament, said when explaining his statement made this morning regarding the Tbilisi mayoral candidate.

According to Makhashvili, Kakha Kaladze is the only candidate who has no real political opponent.

“He is a candidate without alternative and he has no real political opponent in the political space, precisely because of the many great things he has done over the years and his loyalty to the population.

Therefore, I call on everyone and we are also eagerly awaiting the meeting of the Political Council and the decision, where he will be formally nominated as a candidate. The only candidate we are considering is a truly candidate without alternative, but once again, we are anticipating the decision of the Political Council, where he will already be formally nominated,” Makhashvili said.

For information, a few hours before making the aforementioned statement, Makhashvili made the following comment: “Kakha Kaladze has expressed interest in being a mayoral candidate again, but let’s wait for the procedures to be completed. There is actually a possibility that another candidate will be nominated.”
