“The exercises clearly demonstrate the United States’ commitment to the stability of the Black Sea region, as well as the strength and importance of allied cooperation,” stated the U.S. Embassy in Georgia, commenting on the NATO multinational military exercise “Agile Spirit” held in the country.
According to a statement released by the Embassy on social media, the purpose of the exercise is to strengthen partnerships and promote regional security.

Recently, as part of the Agile Spirit 2025 exercises, soldiers from the 1st Squadron of the 91st Cavalry Regiment of the U.S. Army’s 173rd Airborne Brigade conducted a convoy operation alongside their Georgian counterparts.
The convoy operation was carried out from the Senaki training range to the Vaziani training range. These exercises clearly demonstrate the United States’ commitment to the stability of the Black Sea region, as well as the strength and importance of allied cooperation,” the statement from the U.S. Embassy reads.
As a reminder, on July 25, Georgia hosted the multinational military exercise “Agile Spirit” for the 12th time. The military exercise took place in two countries in the region—Georgia and Türkiye.
“In Agile Spirit 2025, alongside representatives of the defense forces of Georgia, the United States, and Türkiye, military personnel from eight other countries are participating; the exercise also involves two multinational units; representatives from two countries will observe the exercises. The exercise aims to enhance the readiness level of the participating countries’ defense forces, as well as to strengthen interoperability and operational capabilities,” stated the information released by the Ministry of Defense.
Georgia is hosting the multinational military exercise “Agile Spirit” for the 12th time, according to information provided by the Ministry of Defense.
According to their statement, the exercise was officially opened at the Krtsanisi NATO-Georgia Joint Training and Evaluation Center (JTEC).
“At the parade ground, the First Deputy Minister of Defense Paata Patiashvili, Deputy Commander of the Defense Forces Major General Irakli Chichinadze, and the Commander of the U.S. 7th Army Training Command in Europe and Africa, Brigadier General Terry Tillis, addressed the military personnel participating in the international exercise.
During their speeches, they spoke about the importance of the international exercise and wished the participants success.
The international exercises in Georgia are jointly led by the Western Commander of the Georgian Defense Forces, Brigadier General Koba Grigolia, and a representative of the U.S. Georgia National Guard, Colonel William Cox. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the Georgian Defense Forces, defense attachés accredited in Georgia, the NATO Liaison Office, the NATO-Georgia Substantial Package (SNGP) Core Team, the U.S. Embassy’s Office of Defense Cooperation (ODC), and the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM).
Agile Spirit 2025 is being held in two countries in the region—Georgia and Türkiye—promoting regional cooperation. The exercise began in Türkiye, near Adana province, with a joint U.S.-Turkish airborne operation on July 21.
