According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in the period from January to June 2025, the crime rate decreased, while the crime detection rate increased

According to statistical data on registered crimes across the country in the first six months of 2025, the crime rate has decreased by 795 cases (-2.96%) compared to the same period in 2024. This was reported in a statement issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Additionally, according to the Ministry, the detection rate for registered crimes has increased, reaching 66.16%.

“As a result of effective legal policies and the uncompromising efforts of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to combat the illegal distribution and trafficking of narcotic substances, the detection of drug-related crimes has significantly increased in the first two quarters of 2025.

In the first six months of this year, a total of 3,919 drug-related crime cases were identified by law enforcement, which is 29% higher than the same period last year. As a result of active measures taken by the police, 263 individuals were held accountable for the illegal sale of narcotic substances in the first two quarters of 2025, nearly double the number compared to the same period in the previous year.

In the first six months of 2025, crimes against property have also decreased, including cases of burglary, robbery, fraud, extortion, and misappropriation/embezzlement. Compared to the same period in 2024, there has been a reduction in sexual crimes, trafficking, cases of child trafficking, cybercrimes (-80 cases), and administrative crimes (-46 cases).

In the first two quarters of 2025, there has been an increase in cases of intentional serious bodily harm and transport-related crimes, including a rise of 175 cases involving violations of traffic safety and vehicle operation regulations. However, at the same time, the crime detection rate has also increased.
