The Revenue Service has launched an inquiry into the media reports that German Ambassador Peter Fischer is renting an apartment in Tbilisi owned by the family of Lelo - Strong Georgia leader Mamuka Khazaradze.
According to the agency, the analysis of the issue revealed a possible tax law violation, which is why the Revenue Service has launched an inquiry into the facts.

"Given the high public interest, we would like to provide the public with information regarding the possible evasion of tax obligations when leasing real estate owned by Mamuka Khazaradze's family to the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Georgia, Ernst Peter Fischer.
Following the information disseminated in the public space, an analysis of the issue revealed a possible violation of tax law, which is why the Revenue Service has already begun examining the facts and will conduct tax control measures specified by law in order to fully study the information," reads the statement.
