Two-year prison sentence given to the Georgian journalist Mzia Amaghlobeli is disproportionate and raises serious issues under the ECHR, - reads a statement issued by the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, Michael O’Flaherty.

„I reiterate my previous call on the authorities to release her and urge them to ensure that journalists can work freely and without unnecessary interference, in full respect of the right to freedom of expression”, reads the statement.
