German Embassy in Georgia: Germany calls on Russia to fully implement its obligations under the agreements of August 12 and September 8, 2008

Germany calls on Russia to fully implement its obligations under the agreements of August 12 and September 8, 2008, the German Embassy in Georgia said in a statement.

As noted in the statement, Germany supports Georgia's national sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.

"An armed conflict between the Russian Federation and Georgia began on August 7, 2008. Today, we remember those who have fallen victim to violence and war, and we also think of those who have been displaced by the war.

The Federal Republic of Germany supports the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia within its internationally recognized borders. The unilateral recognition of the Georgian separatist regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia by the Russian Federation and other states is unacceptable. Germany calls on Russia to fully implement its obligations under the agreements of August 12 and September 8, 2008," reads the statement.
